I wrote my TOEFL in Toronto on 14th Feb, 2009 and scored 106/120. This was the computer based test, the TOEFL iBT.
For preparation, I had not studied much, honestly. I had just gone through a Kaplan guide for TOEFL preparation. However, I am an avid reader and perhaps that habit helped me during the comprehension section, essay writing section and so on.
The voice recording section can be tricky, as you get mixed up when it comes to managing the time.
Unfortunately for me, the test center (in Toronto) was a very noisy one and there was no sound proofing system in place. Thus, whenever a neighbour spoke into his microphone to answer his question, you got disturbed.
